HomeLAN - Most comics based on licensed properties are not as well received. Why do you think UDON's Street Fighter comics will be the exception?
Erik Ko - Actually, for the past 2 years or so, most licensed comics seem to be the hot stuff in comics! There are a few exceptions, but books like Transformers and GI Joe has been raking in great sales and reviews by fans! I believe the key to make a licensed book successful is to make sure that we capture the true feeling of the property in the product, which means if we are to do a Street Fighter comic, it will be a “Street Fighter comic” and not a “comic with characters named after the Street Fighter game”. A while before, a lot of licensed comics are not well received and I think it is mainly due to the fact that people who are making those comics do not know the property well enough. But since we are all Street Fighter fans, we will make sure that this SF book will be done right to everyone’s expectations.
