Gamespy's Game of the Month for April

Although April was a sluggish time for game releases, a couple of titles really stood out. Here at GameSpy, you couldn't tear most of our editors away from the sleeper surprise Painkiller. But when it comes time to choose a Game of the Month, we lean towards the real innovators, the kinds of games that aren't just fun but really push gaming forward. With that in mind, the choice became clear. It may not be for everyone, but Fight Night 2004 -- our April 2004 Game of the Month -- pushes the envelope where few games have tread. Plus, it's just plain fun.
