It's back!

Another hard one I reckon. It's like a "concept" shot I believe, but at the same time the developers have stated their game will look very next-genish.

GRAW 1 or 2?

I could take a guess as I think I know it, and I don't even read gaming news much any more. But I think I came across a teaser for it while doing ClipUpload today.

From the looks of the armor I'm pretty sure I'm right. Let me know when you want to hear it. I could be wrong, but I'm kinda thinking I'm not.

goddamn, I know I have seen that picture and I know what game it's supposed to be from, but the name escapes me.

It's the "true" sequel to a tactical combat game that hasn't seen a real sequel for quite some time (there was a sort of sequel by a different name if I remember correctly though).

BAM! Found it. It's Operation Flashpoint 2.

Guess I was wrong. I was thinking the newly (or new to me) Tom Clancy EndWar.

From what Operation Flashpoint 1 offered as far as graphics, I find it hard to swallow that that concept is anywhere near what the graphics will be for the game. I hope I'm wrong though, graphics like that in a large game would be cool.

I always felt bad for the Operation Flashpoint guys as the Battlefield series kinda stole their thunder after it was released and if they had the proper support and had a slightly better gfx engine, they coulda been in the spotlight instead. There's always room for two though.

EDIT: Does this mean Eraser is in charge of making the next Guess That Game post? Me thinks so.

You would think though that if this was CGI, and not in-game graphics, they would have made an effort to smooth out some of the more obvious jaggies like those the the sodliers backs.

Unless they're trying to double bluff. Actually that wouldn't be a double bluff. Or would it. Anyway.

Ehm, Operation Flashpoint 1 is an old game, from 1998-1999 I believe. And it was really awesome. It had/stil has a hardcore following from a group of gamers that really digged the realism factor of it. When it came out it was the only type of game on the market, at least on that scale. I remember playing it on the ancient computer and I was pretty overwhelmed by the size and complexity of it

It pre-dates the Battlefield series, I think the main reason it wasn't that successful is because it catered to the realism crowd and back then that category was probably more of a niche market than anything.
