Kind of a joke, after seeing the launching titles. Not only that, when watching a summarized video of MSes announcements, I would have figured a lot of the titles would be all-in-one, but instead each little game is it's own separate game.
An entire game to playing with a tiger? Mmkay, yeah I'll pass. While I can see they are trying to appeal to that age group, I would have thought people in that age group probably already own a Wii. I thought the whole idea was to bring that type of motion detection to the hardcore fans, or the same types of people that play the types of action games that appear on Xbox 360. I guess I was wrong, it appears it's purpose is to try to steal the marketshare that Nintendo gained with the Wii. I just figured that they would make some crazy cool game and put a huge dev team on it, so it was AAA quality, but was finished in the short amount of time. Instead, they have nothing that is that much better than their original dumb pong demo. I thought that was suppose to be a concept, not a standard of what to expect. I guess I can hope for something more later on, but MS isn't off to a good start with it's "console upgrade". BTW here's the summarized video I watched. What are your thoughts on it? If you will buy it specifically for the fact that you have kids though, mention that. Because sure, it would be great for that.

I know, it's a fad. It'll only be used for gimmicks.

I think it will have it's place, just like console controllers have their place. Personally though, I don't know how people stand playing shooting games with a controller.
Single player I can see, but the whole point of MP is to gain that greater ability of moving your mouse quicker than the other guy, and being as accurate as possible. With console controllers it must be about something else, but it's for sure not about that. See who can get their icon into the auto aim area of the head first? ![]() Now-a-days games seem to be so much about finding a good camping spot and sitting there as you click when you see someone cross your crosshairs. |
