I've taken care of some more player updates and tweaking on CU again.

The new player tweaks offer some social sharing abilities, and may increase your ability to stream videos better. A quick sample is below, but you can also checkout www.clipupload.com to check out more. If the new tweaks have helped in your ability to stream videos better from CU, I'd be interested in hearing about the differences.

One question about the update if I upload an avi does it convert it to a flash or does it remain an avi?

uploaded videos still remain in their original format. I haven't found myself willing to turn server resources into changing video formats, when there are ways to play those other formats... even though, they are less accommodating.

Perhaps in a future update though. If the site continues to grow, I wouldn't put it past a coming feature at some point. As of right now though, it's not planned.

If I were to lead one way on that, I would try to get something that would just stream/play avis(and any other popular video format) inside a player that was just as slick as the flv player on CU.

Another update has been provided to www.ClipUpload.com, but this time to the server backend that powers ClipUpload.com

I've seen a dramatic improvement in speed on my end, as I sometimes had trouble streaming from CU myself.

For anybody that ever had problems with the speed of ClipUpload.com, I encourge you to give the site another try. My streaming speed has varied between 6 and 22Mbit a second now.

I'm hoping that this improvement may increase the sites accessibility to some of our Euro friends. As a sample, here's a HD video for Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

I am continuing to work on the sites backend to help improve it. I have a few code improvements that are needed before we know if the site needs to be moved to a more powerful server, but I'm fairly dedicated to the site now in that it's not going anywhere, and should be a long updated site.
